Coverage
[edit]This article doesn't at present explicitly cover the use of consecration in the Anglican and other western non-RC churches - it is only touched on in the strange "various churches" subsection (which largely duplicates the specifically RC section on Chuches, altars etc). Unintended insult?
[edit]In the section on Jainism, reference is made to effigies as "idols". The use of this word for, say, statues in Christianity is highly insulting and shows ignorance of the doctrines applying to their use. Can we assume that followers of Jainism would see no problem with using the term, or is this an error requiring a revision of the text? ShropshirePilgrim (talk) 13:47, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
Church/mosque consecrated to, or dedicated to St X?
[edit]Is a house of worship always consecrated to God or faith as such, and dedicated to, and named for, a saint or holy concept? Or can it be consecrated to Saint X? In short, is saying "the town chuch/mosque/etc. is consecrated to St X" accurate? Thank you, Arminden (talk) 08:55, 17 August 2022 (UTC)
